| | Inspiration
If the Creator had a desk before creating the world, this may be what it looked like. The basic shape was modeled from the memory of my first desk.
Originally my idea was to portray a sense of nostalgia, but when I found the Lightwave program on my computer didn't come with wood texture, I got creative with alternatives and was thus inspired for a better story.

| | Problems and Solutions
One problem I had was the glass effect for the monkey, changing the light from distant to point made it look like glass. The viewer could see through it and the background behind it would look distorted. However, the form of the glass object was ambiguous because it didn't have enough sheen on its surface to portray its fairly complicated form. By adding more point lights closer to the monkey, I was able to add more sheen and make the monkey more identifiable as a monkey to viewers.
Making some to the point lights different colors made the scene's colors look richer and the mood more appropriate for the subject matter.
