Story:

We thought of this theme because it is of common interest to majority of students during this time of the year. This is the time when graduating students are looking for jobs and preparing themselves for going into the job market. The students are looking to find the jobs that would bring them money, status and eventually success and happiness. Some of them will go and work for some of the big companies where '
the blue suit' and the attitude that goes with it are required.

I remember the New York subway during week days early in the morning. The wagons would be packed with hundreds of 'blue suits' migrating towards Manhattan. Every morning, at the same time they religiously follow the same route to work where their cubicle is waiting for them. This routine is slowly but surely transforming them into robots. They become a part of the smoothly running system. They become part of this machinery .The mechanism is symbolized in our scene by the intimidating corporate building that our people are heading towards. The building is asymmetrical to signify the unbalanced quality of the bureaucratic system the people become a part of once they start working for these companies.

Another topic that our group wanted to touch on was the effect of media on our nation. So, after an eight or nine hour work day in the small, impersonal cubicle the workforce goes back home where they turn on the TV and they let their homes invaded by media messages which tell them what to eat, how to dress, where to go on vacation, what is normalcy and how they are supposed to function in society. Over time, after going through the same routine day after day the optimism and desire to become better, the aspiration to develop into complex and spiritual beings fades away leaving us with spiritually lifeless, heading towards spiritual downfall which is symbolized in our scene by the flames surfacing out of the black hole. 'The hell' here stands for spiritual emptiness.

 Lots of procedurals/gradients/solids.

Problems/Solutions:

Using Lightwave scene editor we had the grid size way up which made it hard to make fine adjustments to objects and impossible to use the humans' bones.  Solution-decrease grid size.  I had allot of trouble with the hair, sasquatch lite said I had too many polygons in my model after I spent hours tweeking with it I gave up and turned to polygon hair. WHICH I RECOMMEND, its really easy to do and newtek has a great tutorial. The textures for the grass have multiple procedurals and gradients on them to create a smooth flow with no sharp edges.
