INSPIRATION:
This piece is a testament to the norm. The norm is a monotone, layered existence in which there is no escape, because there is no cage. The middle-middle class of society at its best, (or worse) is a destination sought after by billions across the globe. Why is the most bland the most revered? Because from birth, the majority are taught and convinced what they are to be seeking in their life, and most will never care to disagree. Original thought has taken a back seat to bands that don't write their own music, movies you've seen a million times before, and blind patriots that make up the majority of those who vote. STORY:
I grew up in Southern California where places actually do look like these renderings. Sameness for miles on end, white picket Mercedes and Laborador satellite dishes. The kind of stuff that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I would never want to live in a place like that, because it honestly freaks me out. Those towns look like a gigantic cult took over a city, and built the same house everywhere. I tried to make the scene as bland as possible, but still having enough details to look real. I think it turned out pretty well, you definitely get a feel of lonliness and boredom when you look at it. But maybe that's just my modeling skills.
