Reading Time

Inspiration:

The reason why I call this Reading Time, is because when I am finished with all my work or when I take a little break, I like to relax and read up on some of the hottest celebrities For example Brooke Burns, star of Bay Watch and co-star of Shallow Hal. The inspiration in my desk scene is my desk at home and of course Brooke. The only real difference between my desk at home and the desk in my scene is, my desk at home is a little bit more messy. The objects and their placement in the scene are very similar to my set up at home. The objects that I created were fairly easy to create.

Problems & Solutions:

Some problems I encountered along the way were getting the right shape for the lamp. I had to use the lathe tool several times to get the right shape. I also had to play around with the surface editor to get the right type of appearance. Another problem that I encountered was getting the texture for my desk. Every time I got a texture from the image folder in the lab it wouldn't open up on my computer at home, so I just saved the image that I wanted on to my zip, and I had that image when I worked at home. I also had some trouble with my glass appearance and rendering. I had some help with a web site, www.tonyg2k.50megs.com. I used the wine glass tutorial to help me get the desired look for my glass. Also I referred to this site on tips on how to render. I found out that I needed to save in RGB mode and save the scene as a jpeg.
