An Ordinary Room

Inspiration

For my desk scene I imagined a room of one Japanese university student who lives alone in some cheep apartment.  Because he does not have money, he picked up one old style TV from a trash can.  The room is not clean and made in Japanese cheap living style.  I tried to make it in typical living space.

Problems & Solutions:

In most cases, the modeling of objects is not so difficult.  What I spent lots of time for is a layout part such as lightings, surface settings, atmosphere settings, and so on.  To make objects look more realistic, I mostly used real textures which I downloaded from Internet or took with my digital camera.  In addition, not only just putting those textures on objects, also I used bump mappings to some objects such as walls, floor (tatami), a poster.  Those bump mappings are made with their actual pictures.  Moreover, to avoid objects being clean, beautiful computer graphics looking, I added some noises to them.
