Inspiration

The idea of this scene is come from the professor of this class. We have to do the desk scene. And in the class we have to put our pencil on the desk. Because of the pencil, I feel drawing is most relative to it. So always people who is always drawing picture is architect or other artist.

This is the desk of an architect. He is not the famous at all. So you can see there is not much stuff in his room. Simple is his belief. He tried to finish his perfect project. Many ideas were coming out, but he is not satisfied of them. After many days' hard work, he felt very tire. He decided to have a rest.

Problems

1.Plugin  When I was trying to model the stack of paper, I couldn't find the tool what I want. Hopefully, Dr. Clack gave me a hand, he told me how to input the plug-ins. In Lightwave modeler: Modeler->Plug-ins->Add Plug-in

2.Glass  I don't know how to make a perfect glass. From the website, I find out the structure of the glass. The glass should me have two surfaces. One is glass surface (face outside); the other is air surface (face inside). And the refraction of the glass surface should be over 1.0. On the other hand the air surface is equal to 1.0

I spent about 90% of time to make the glass look real, but I failed. The surface of the glass worked very well in my simple scene. After put the glass into the final scene, it worked very bad. I tried to figure out what is the problem of the glass. I made different properties of the glass surface. It still looks very strange. In my opinion, the walls of the room are too dark. So when I ran Ray Trance Reflection and Refraction, it turned too black.

3.Light  I put two lights in this scene. One is the linear line that is on the desk. The other is distant light that is outside the room. I want to create the scene that is at the night. So I turn the distant light on. That can help me to simulate the light outside under the bright moon. The linear light is only focus on the desk; it let you see the object on the desk.
