Inspiration

Originally I started this project to recreate my room at home.  I figured this would be easy.  Once I built all of the required objects though, I decided to do something else.
I figured it would be pretty boring to just have a normal room, so I built the robot in the scene.  The end result sort of represents the way I feel when I'm sitting at my desk trying to get started on some homework.  I tried to make him look tired, and it's dark in the room except for the lamp.  I think it turned out ok, but I was surprised at how long it took to do everything.  I would have liked to add some more objects.

Problems & Solutions:

One of the main problems I had was the difficulty of arranging the robot into the right position.  It was virtually impossible to do before I had the objects grouped together, but once each piece,(the head, the shoulder, the forearm etc.) was all on the same layer in the modeler file it was much easier.  I'm looking forward to figuring out how to attach the parent-child relationships to individual pieces to make the whole thing easier.  Or maybe bones.  I would like to figure out how those work too.
