Inspiration:

The first thing I thought about when making my desk scene was what kind of desk I would want if I had a big office in a job making a lot of money. Thinking about this, I tried to make a big, expensive, marble desk. I tried to make it a little exquisite, so it would be obvious it was not some piece of junk. Then I decided to make my wine class so it looked nice and expensive as well. My lamp followed, which I made to look like pure gold; you can only have the best at this level. I made the rest of the room in a dark and powerful look, with dark colors and a big window looking over some big city. My thought is the person who has this office is doing well for themselves, though they are not the top man. I think the room very much has this feeling.

Problems and Solutions:

I really did not run into that many problems when making this scene. After I got a little grip on how to use the tools, most of my objects were fairly easy to make. My glass looked a little funny at first, because there were points where it looked only paper thin, so I just added little balls to them to make them thicker in that part. I did not like how the end of my pencil looked, so I hid that end of it behind the laptop, definitely the easier way to fix that problem. My window took me a bit of effort to look just how I wanted, because Lightwave kept ignoring it as a polygon, so I had to delete it and redo it until Lightwave started doing it right. The only other problem I really had was that after rendering my first picture, when I came back a few days later, the carpet texture had disappeared without a trace. I was able to find another very similar to it if not the same and it worked out just as well.

Other then www.3dspline.com and www.tonyg.info, I really didn't use any resources, other then the great knowledge of the professor.

In the end I felt this scene turned out very well. It is nothing super exciting and I would have liked time to make a few more objects of my own for it, but I still like it and think it is pretty neat.
