Inspiration:

For this assignment I chose something that would be able to easily recreate, my own desk.
I took what I knew of what I had on my desk and tried to recreate every piece.  Although I couldn't get everything on that I wanted, it was fun to model some things.  In addition I put some stuff that I would hope to get in the future.

Problems & Solutions:

This project was fun to create but there were some problems in creating.  Some of the problems were trying to get the textures just right so they would automatically fit on the polygons.  Also when I tried to texture just some polygons in the marble holder, it did not work.  I ended up using procedural textures which was fun to play with. Also there were some problems with size adjustment in layout.  I did not originally make everything to scale so it was hard to move things around so they were just right.  Also getting the lighting right was very difficult.  I played around with the settings and I couldn't get it to reflect like what i wanted to, so I ended up using up transparancy.

The fun thing to make was the marble.  The weld tool was very helful in getting rid of excess points.  Something I learned during the course of making this was the bump map texture tool.  I used this to make the wall of the room somewhat look like stucco painting.  Although I am not satisfied with the final outcome, it still looked decent.
