| Yoko Matsuura | Final Scene | | The Contact |
|
|
The title of my final project is The Contact. This idea came from my favorite movie The Contact. I wanted to create something interesting and something fun to model, so I decided to create a scene of contact between a UFO and tanks. The story of this scene is pretty simple. The UFO came to the Earth and captured the cow for some reason, then the military tanks came and defeated the UFO sending it crashing to the ground.
I spent more time modeling objects than I did for the layout. I got a couple of images of UFOs and tanks from the Internet as samples. I really enjoyed creating the tanks. I also enjoyed putting texture on the UFO and the tanks. Texture can make objects look more realistic.

Problems and Solutions
I spent a lot of time to make and arrange the lights. My favorite part of this scene is the laser beam from the UFO. I used the lens flare tool for it. I learned from the tutorials of my classmates such as fire and laser beam. It helped me a lot. I played with the numbers of the ring size, streak Density, and streak sharpness. I found that it added to the overall quality giving the scene a mysterious effect.
