Problems and Solutions:
There were many problems encountered during this project because for the most part everything I used I had just learned. One of the biggest problems I had was dealing with the wings. The first problem was how to make them. They are a very unusual shape and they had to fit just right. I solved the problem (I thought) by making polygons out of points. The second problem was when Mirroring the Dragon the copied wings had giant holes in them. This problem was remedied by pressing the freeze button before mirroring. The third problem was in modeler where it seemed as if no matter what I did the wings always had a funny looking shadow on them. This problem was not fixed.
The other big problem I had was with my UV map. My only other experience with UV mapping was the in class tutorial, so this was something very new to me. One of the first problems was getting all 72 surfaces in the map to make my UV. Once I finally had them arranged I began making the bump map. This came out looking horrible. ( I didn't realized this until I put everything together in Modeler.) My lack of experience showed up here. Once I believed I finished the bump map I began to make the image map. This actuallt turned out somewhat decent. The map was made with a general color of red and then orange was added where the skin was to be elevated and a dark red was added where the creases were to be based on the bump map. Another problem with the UV was how I fitted all 72 surfaces in it at once. Without realizing it I reduced the level of detail that I could work with during the making of the image and bump map. This problem can be corrected in the future by doing body parts separately (head on one map, arm on another, etc.).
