Paradise for a Day

Picture yourself under the shade of the tallest and voluminous palm trees.  The water that you play in is clear and blue as the sky.  The ocean seems to have no end in sight.  The sand that you are building sandcastles with is soft and clean.  All the vegetation is plentiful and lush.  The warm sun surrounds every inch of your body. But, these aren't the only things to praise.  There are no other bodies in sight but the people that you have pictured yourself with.

A day in paradise is not the first idea that came to my head.  At first, I modeled and layed out a basement, sports hang out room.  The room was complete with game table, dominos, martini glasses with olives, coach, and shelf.  Unfortunately, my entire disk was rewritten by a computer, which left me with nothing but other people's Aura projects, which really don't do me any good.  I quickly had to come up with my paradise scene, which was always my second choice.

In Paradise the background image was downloaded from Art.com.  I modeled the table, lamp, pencil, paper, and coconut cup in lightwave.  The textures for all objects (table's wood, lamp's color and glass effect, coconut texture) were added in lightwave's modeler as well.  In the layout program I added the light coming from the lamp.

I encountered various problems with the program.  Although, the most serious did not have to do with the project, the complete discard of the information on my disk.  I had a hard time trying to find the correct light for my lamp.  I tried making it look like a flame but could not get those properties to download.  Then later, I could not find the flame window.  Ultimately, due to the light used it turned from a candle to a light.  There were no real problems I had with the program.  I just need to become more familiar with the location of certain tools and their full capabiltites.
