Go ahead and access the Oracle Academic Initiative web site at http://oai.oracle.com and join as a student member.  You will need to type in your school as CSU, Chico (or just Chico), choose Computer Science as the department and complete the information.  You will have your email address as your login for the site.  Be sure to fully check out the OAI site as there is much information available to you and you can order and/or download much free software from Oracle directly from the student member site.
