During the summer, Courtney was being pursued by Towson State, Rutgers University, University of Houston, Samford University, and Temple University. As the summer season wound down, Courtney had narrowed her search to Temple, Houston, and Samford. Temple offered Courtney the immediate opportunity to play the position of catcher, whereas the other two schools wanted her to be a utility player with the opportunity to play catcher in later years. Courtney decided to go to Temple based on: the great education available, the improvements in the softball program since coach Rocci Pignoli and coach Terri Adams have been on staff, and the warm welcoming she received from the players on her visit to the campus.
Courtney will receive a full NCAA scholarship to attend Temple University. She looks forward to playing with the Temple Owls next year as they defend their Atlantic 10 Conference championship.
