After visiting four schools on the East coast: Pennsylvania University, Colgate University, West Point Military Academy, and Columbia University, Chantee made the decision to attend Columbia in the fall of 2005. Her decision was based on the high quality education of an Ivy League school, the excellence and completeness of the existing softball program, the skill level of the veteran team already at Columbia, the competitive Division I schedule played by the Lions, the opportunities she will have after graduating from Columbia University, and the location of the university, New York City.
Kayla Noonan, head softball coach at Columbia, recruited Chantee to play in the middle infield along with handling some of the pitching duties. Scouting Chantee at the Lancaster Showcase tournament, coach Noonan was quite impressed with Chantee's pitching, fielding, hitting, and baserunning skills. Being a member of the "Ivy League", Columbia competes against: Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, and Cornell. Early 2004 season tournaments include: LSU tournament, Maryland tournament, and Rebel Games in Florida.
On her visit to Columbia University, Chantee viewed much of what Columbia has to offer to its students, toured the athletic facilities, met with the team members, and spoke extensively with coach Noonan and her assistant coach Courtney Ryan. At the end of the one day visit to the university, Chantee's mind was set: Columbia University was the school for her.
The entire Chaos organization is extremely proud of Chantee and her accomplishments. We wish her all the best in the fall of 2005 when she commences her studies and continues her softball career at Columbia University.
