This integrated circuit tester tests for PN junction faults in an IC. Every IC is composed of diodes and transistors connected in many varies combinations. All it takes is one junction failure to alter or halt the normal operation of an integrated circuit. This tester provides a visual indication of the semi conductive "fingerprint" of the IC by forward bias all the PN junctions the IC. When the fingerprint of the device being tested matches that of a know good identical device, then the IC is considered good. If the finger prints don't match, then the IC is consider defective. The tester will give relatively accurate analysis of the device being tested in most cases.
