First, let me introduce the family:

I was born in Augsburg, Germany. I moved to Oakland, California when I was just one year old.

We lived there the whole time I was growing up. My mother still lives in the old house. I attended Berkeley, and graduated with a BA in English, though I was a computer science major for the first two years. I spent a year studying abroad, where I changed a lot of things.

I then began doing carpentry and substituting. When I was injured for I time, I decided to go into teaching full time. I taught for 7 years until Julie graduated from Chico State as an accountant. She started work full time, and I started child care full time.

I went back to school a few years later, and am trying ever so hard to finish my thesis.
