Project Deliverable 1
Due: On or before September 13

Note: there are both team deliverables and individual deliverables
Team deliverables are worth 10 points - all team members will receive the same grade.
Individual reflections are worth 5 points.

In this first deliverable, we will be coming up with projects that we can then analyze, design, and implement during the semester. You may think of yourselves as the customer coming up with a product description to take to a software engineering firm. It does not have to be perfectly and completely defined because we will be going through requirements engineering later. The teams are listed here, however they may change slightly in the next day or two as it becomes clear who is or is not in the class, etc.

select a team leader - notify Dr. Challinger before the end of class on 9/6 who your team leader is
brainstorm a product idea - requirements
- clearly definable input and output
- persistant data storage of some kind
- some sort of user interface
- the right amount of funtionality for a team of 4 to design and implement in one semester
remember, do your best work - everything you do will be handed off to another team for the next development phase

Team Deliverables:

product description
initial scope proposal - this will be negotiable later
team plan for completion of deliverables above (who will do what)

Individual Deliverable:

reflection - one page, maximum, answer the following
- How well did your team work together?
  - Give a rating between 1 and 5
    - 1 = extremely poorly
    - 5 = extremely well
  - What do you base your rating on?
- How did the team decide how to divide up the team responsibilities?
- Describe what each specific team member contributed to the completion of the deliverables
- What would have improved team productivity?

Turn-in Procedure:

In WebCT, click on the Assignments icon, upload your file and submit
- The team leader is responsible for turning in the team deliverables plus his/her reflection - zip all these documents up and submit one file
- Each student is responsible for turning in their individual deliverables
In addition, the team must create a binder for this proposal
- print the product description and initial scope proposal
- put these in the binder - label the binder with a project title
- bring this binder to class on 9/15
