Up and Running February 29, 2000
Well sort of. My computer is finally back on it's feet, but I screwed up my six-month old Windows partition by loading funky drivers. Oh well, I guess I'll try to reload Windows this weekend. Better yet I'll see if I can get my hands on a copy of Win98SE...
The Weekend and Other Stuff February 28, 2000
After about 6 days I think it's time for a website update. Well I had a nice weekend. I got back last night from visiting my parents in Irvine. It was quite a nice visit and a well-needed break. But I guess it's back to the grindstone this week: I still have that presentation to do for my communications class tonight as well as a test for my Anthropology class on Wednesday. I also have a Computer Science program to finish by this Wednesday as well. But after all of that, I'll finally be finished and I can dedicates some time to reconstruction of my computer.

When I flew back yesterday I brought back my motherboard that was flashed by SDTom. And my personal favorite--my new set of Creative Labs DTT-2500 speakers. I tried thoset hings out this weekend and I wouldn't trade them for the world... Now I need to locate a SPDIF cable so I can use the digital connection on my SBLive!

Hmm, after 10 days I'm still waiting for my Thermal Epoxy. USPS shipped it on the 18th, one would think you could get it coast-to-coast by now...

Here's my dad's new web page on Earthlink.

Happy Birthday Michael February 22, 2000
Today is my little brother's birthday. He turned 15 today. I'll see if I can get you a birthday present.

Man, has school been tough lately these past few weeks. This week I have a test in my Assembly-Language class, today I'll have a test in my accounting class, one for my anthropology class next week and on next Monday I have a group presentation that's an hour long. Boy is this next two weeks going to be hectic. But on the bright side this Thursday I'll be visiting my parents for the first time since Christmas break.

Still no word on my motherboard yet, hopefully it's in good working order...

Update: The bios patch was successful and my motherboard runs quite well with Athlons with their cache set at 2/5. My motherboard should be mailed today.

Copper Spacer News February 19, 2000
Seems like TiGeR's copper spacer finally really took off once people got wind of it at HardOCP. But remember it isn't just for the CuMine--it was originally designed for the Athlon. And you can get yours today for $12 in single-unit quantites and $15 when shipped.

SDTom of OCPower should get my Gigabye motherboard today. He's going to flash the bios to make it work then test it with Athlons that run their cache at 2/5. After that I should get my motherboard back hopefully by this Tuesday or Wednesday and I can have my computer back up and functioning again.

SwifTech also reported yesterday that my MC-1X00 SE and MC-1500 Upgrade Kit may be shipping sometime in the next week or so. Hopefully they won't come when I'm gone to visit my parents next Thursday.

This site is giving away free samples of Silver Grease among other goodies. You have to fill out the form first, but get yours here.

Update: TiGeR has a new e-mail address to get his copper spacers from--use gillitzer@yahoo.com.

Computer News February 17, 2000
Well my new Athlon almost worked. When SDTom cut my cache cut to 2/5 the Athlon still worked great but my Gigabyte GA-7IX decided it wasn't going to put up with such L2 Cache blasphemy and refused to work with my CPU. Fortunately it looks like my motherboard will only need a new bios update to remedy the situation. I sent my motherboard to SDTom to flash the board since my current CPU and motherboard combination isn't exaclty working...hehe

Another unfortunate problem is that my new GeForce-256 Cooling Kit does not want to stick when the video card heats up. Serves me right for trying to get away without using Thermal Epoxy. I orderd some stuff from 2CoolTek

Sounds like TiGeR's copper spacer has finally hit the mainstream overclocking press. HardOCP used it on a CuMine.

Busy Week February 15, 2000
Man have I ever been tied up this week. I've had a heck of a lot so homework, quizzes and a program to do for my computer science class. Well it finally lets up by this Wednesday so I should finally have enough time to take a good crack at getting my computer put back together. My Liteon Case came yesterday, but I haven't really done anything but put the CD-ROM and hard drives in. Hopefully I should have some components in tonight, but I don't think I'll have a good, functional gaming system until this weekend.
Computer News February 12, 2000
Woohoo. I got my copper spacer today as well as my Athlon from SDTom. Now if I only had my case I'd be in business. UPS still says it's scheduled to be delivered on Monday.

I also updated the stats on my computer to reflect the recent upgrades that I've got.

Stable at 832MHz February 10, 2000
Well I just got word that my new Athlon capable of breaking the 800MHz barrier--and it's on it's way back to me now. I need my case.

Update: And so it shipped--looks like my case will be here by Monday or Tuesday. Oooh gonna love my new system come next week...

Got my GeForce-256 Cooling Kit February 7, 2000
This is new $30 GeForce-256 Cooling Kit that I got from Millisec.com is über cool. Now all I need is my case and my CPU and I'll be ready to rock and roll. Here's some pictures: I also got word from SwifTech that my MC-1000 SE Upgrade Kit will ship within two to four weeks. I know, it's a bit of a wait, but good things come to those who wait.

Update: MC-1500 Upgrade Kit was also released today. It's got a copper plate that's milled to work with the cache ships. Looks like it would be a winner if used with TigeR's core spacer.

State of the Computer Address February 5, 2000
Well after getting a few things straightened out at SwifTech yesterday my case will be shipping sometime next week.

While waiting for my case to be shipped, I decided to send off my CPU back to SDTom of OCPower so he could further tweak my CPU to hopefully around 800MHz with a 2/5 cache speed. I figured heck, while you are waiting for the case to show up why not tweak the engine instead of letting everything collect dust in the garage. Figuratively speaking of course.

I also ordered a core spacer from TigeR. Hopefully I should get mine pretty soon.

The Creative Labs Video Blaster Webcam Go review is up.

Doh!!! February 3, 2000
Man, this one really bites the big one: after waiting for several weeks for my Liteon Case, I finally figured out why it has yet to come--the credit-card company didn't like the zip code on the order. And neither me nor my dad caught the problem when we got the order confirmation from SwifTech

Welp, I guess I am going to have to wait another two weeks for my case...

Copper Spacer Pictures February 2, 2000
Here's a few pictures of the Copper Spacers from TigeR: I'll have the Creative Labs Video Blaster Webcam Go review up this weekend.

I had to take the movie down from my CSCI-40 web page in order to make room for these new pictures. If anybody still wants to see the movie I'll have to ICQ it too you since Hotmail won't allow me to send files over one meg.
