Saute the onions and chicken until chicken is lightly browned. Add peppers and mushrooms followed by the pineapple. Add the soy sauce and the teriyaki sauce along with one cup of water is added. Allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes at medium heat. Honey can be added (2-4 tablespoons) to sweeten the mixture. Brown sugar also works well. Both the honey and the brown sugar are not essential but do improve the taste. This meal will feed 4-5 adults. Overcooking will lead the sauce to burn which will cause the flavor of the teriyaki chicken to diminish greatly.
