Portrait ASSIGNMENT    ASSIGNMENT:    PURPOSE:      TIPS FOR SUCCESS:    PRODUCT

Portrait ASSIGNMENTTop of Page

What makes a photograph into a portrait is the intention of the photographer to reveal something about the character of the person. You are trying to convey something about a person's nature in your images.

A portrait is not just simply a picture of a person. A photograph of a person can be interesting in the way light falls on the different surfaces of their face or body, the various colors of their skin and clothes or the particular design of the tattoo on their body. These characteristics can make an impact on your image.

ASSIGNMENT:Top of Page

  • The portrait may be formal or environmental (surroundings can form an important statement about the person).

  • You must shoot at least 60 exposures - all portraits, not necessarily the same person. The 60 exposures will presented in a html web gallery.
