| | Saving and Exporting Assignments in Mirage Remember... Saving a project makes the file a Mirage file so only Mirage will open it. In order to view it on another computer or on the Web it must be Exported as a jpeg!
To Save your file as a Mirage file so that you may work on it again later... - First choose "File -> Save Project As..." and you will see a large window of files. - The files on the left are the directories in which the file will be saved to... Scroll to the top and double-click Desktop. On the right, the files on the desktop will appear. - At the top of the Save Project menu, next to File, replace Untitled-00.mir with your own file name. - Select OK at the bottom of the screen and your .mir, or Mirage file, will appear on the desktop.
To Export your Image files as JPEGS to be turned in or viewed on another computer or the web...
- First choose "File -> Export Project to..." and an Export Footage window will appear. - Set "Format" for JPEG and make sure the "Compression" tab is set for 100. - Next choose the "Browse" tab just beneath Compression... A window identical to the Save Project menu will appear. - Slide the middle slider to the top and double click "Desktop" - Next to "File", enter the assignment name that I have supplied for you (either on the board or the assignment writeup). - Choose "OK" at the bottom left and you will be returned to the original Export Footage window. - If you chose a Background color from the layers panel make sure the "Background" option is checked near the bottom. If not leave it blank. - Click "Save" in the bottom left corner. - Check the desktop to make sure your file is there. To ensure that it is a JPEG, right click on the file and choose "Properties". Under File Type it should say Jpeg Image.
That's all there is to it!
