Course DescriptionTop of Page

This course focuses on the completion of animation projects in the production environment, including storyboards, modeling, lighting, and animation elements to successfully complete professional-level short animations. Emphasis is on working as a member of a computer animation team, similar to a real-world production facility.

  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and current tools necessary for creating a 3D animation
  • An ability to create a 3D animation that tells an effective story
  • An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams to create effective 3D animation
  • An ability to identify, formulate and solve issues and problems involved in creating a 3D animation
  • An ability to apply critical thinking and aesthetics judgments in critiquing a 3D animation
  • An ability to communicate effectively to fellow 3D artists and to patrons of a 3D production

  • This is a single group project class; all elements of the production stated above will graded.
  • Attendance and hard work is critical for the completion of the project and will affect individual performance in the end. Your fellow group members will evaluate your contribution to the project.

Absences, Excuse Policy and Late Work Policies:
  • Late:  There are no late assignments, projects, reports, etc.  All assignments are to be completed and turned-in prior to the due date and time.  No late assignments are permitted with the exception of university policies regarding documented illness or emergencies.
