IPv6 Address Notation

• An IPv6 address such as:

  • 1080:0000:0000:0000:0008:0800:200C:417A can be represented as:
    • 1080:0:0:0:8:800:200C:417A
      or
    • 1080::8:800:200C:417A
      • NOTE: The “double colon” notation can only be used ONCE in a IPv6 address
