Welcome to Steve Detwiler's post graduation, ultra low maintenance, web site.
I graduated from CSU, Chico in December of 1999 with a BS in Computer Science.Currently, I am a research software engineer at Sony Computer Entertainment US Research and Development in the Distributed Networking Technology Group. I'm working on some new, fun projects.
Prior to working at Sony, I spent about 9 years as a developer and as the Senior Software Architect at Triadigm Technology in San Francisco. At Triadigm, I developed the FutureArts web application framework and worked on several projects that used FutureArts, including CollectionsOnline!, AlbumsOnline!, and ContentPath.
During my last year at Chico, I developed The Interactive Learning Environment. ILE gives a 3D interface to FutureArts and allows students and teachers to collaborate in computer generated environments for education. I, along with Jonathan Hendryx, Beth Padilla and Triadigm Technology presented ILE at SIGGRAPH 99 in Los Angeles.
While at Chico State, I interned at the Instructional Media Center Computer Graphics Lab. During my time at the IMC, I animated, wrote software for the CSU Satellite Education Network, and directed Free Will, an incomplete live action and computer animated short film.
The bulk of my web presence is now here. Check it out if you're bored.
