| One potential pitfall of group work are people with “problem personalities” in the group. Linda D. Lerner wrote of these potential problem people in the Journal of Management Education. The following are a list of such personalities: |
| · Nola No-Can-Meet |
| This person is always too busy to meet with the group. Usually says to tell her what needs to be done and she will do her part. |
|
| · Do-It-All Dottie |
| This person wants to make sure everything is done a certain way, so she tries to do it all herself. |
|
| · Seldom-Seen Steve |
| This person has not contacted anybody in the group. He never comes to class and the other group members are not sure if he is still in the |
| class. |
|
| · Always-Right Artie |
| This person always thinks his ideas are the right way for the group to go. He does not listen to others. He tries to do things his own way even when other group members disagree. |
|
| · Quiet Quentin |
| This person may have some good ideas, but he never speaks up. He is always prepared and at all of the meetings, but just sits quietly. |
