EQ AND PERFORMANCE FEEDBACK
The evaluation of employee performance is a very important tool in the workplace.  If a manager possesses high emotional intelligence, he or she will be able to communicate possible areas of employee performance that can be improved upon to the employee effectively.  This is very important because many people do not take criticism very well.  Often criticism of performance can create resentment in the employee being evaluated.  This is why the manner by which the criticism is conveyed is of great importance.  Emotional intelligence in the receiver of the criticism is another key component of an employee evaluation.  If the employee uses his or her emotional intelligence when evaluating the criticism it won't be seen as a personal attack but rather as an opportunity to improve his or her performance.

Organizational culture is the nature of the general work environment.  A healthy organizational culture is a valuable asset to effective companies.  Low employee turnover and employee job satisfaction are some of the benefits of an organizational culture rich in emotional intelligence.  If an organization can take advantage of the benefits of emotional intelligence the workplace can become very productive and achieve new dynamic levels of performance.
