In 1996 and 1997 The Congress cut funding to the arts, education, the poor, homeless, and disabled children. As they enjoyed full health care, privet clubs, and gifts from lobbyists, the city of Washington DC, where they work was bankrupted.
If the government does not meet the needs of the people; the people do not need that government.
