Here's where you can see the Mac bashers pages. I display them here because they threaten the Mac in no way. In fact, any Mac user that goes to one of their pages would say "thank god I'm not like them!" Let me warn you ahead of time, most of these pages were made by ignorant little kids, and they have sorry graphics. Don't expect any good pro-PC arguments. A few pages have better content than the rest. I put those up top. The decent pages: Team Gates This is the stuff that churns the stomach. This doesn't really belong in this section, but I had to include it somewhere. The Why Apple Macintosh Are Worthless Homepage phew! Also home of the proud 'team MacSuck'. An anti-Mac page, one of the most prolific. They claim to be the first and best anti Mac homepage. The most active section is the discussion page, which people can post their arguments on. Unfortunately, most of the PC people can't come up with any good arguments "MY PENTIUM133 WITH WIN95 WILL BEAT YOU MAC LUSERS" (an actual quote). Notice how a lot of the PC users' seem to have broken caps lock keys, and an underdeveloped vocabulary/intellect. They also like to use the words 'crapintosh','crapple','mcputer' etc. PC advocates tend to not to back up anything they say with facts. The ones that aren't quite as dumb still don't use any facts. Read it, it's interesting. Post your opinions there. This site has interesting views of censorship. It used to say at the top of the page "uncensored comments from you". Scroll down the page and you'd see *censored by script manager* scattered across people's posts. The site's owner has since dropped that claim. When you post to T.W.A.M.C.A.W.H.P, you are asked for your e-mail address. The address is not used for the posting, but so the site's owner can complain to your ISP about you if you post nasty things. He clearly states that is only reason he asks for e-mail. So why put in your e-mail address? Team PCSuck makes fun of Team MacSuck.Chia's Macbashing This site has been discontined. What a pity, this site was the nicest looking. However, mostly everything they said about Macs was wrong. misc: Macs Suck:The Sequel This site no longer really belongs in this section. This used to be a Mac-bashing site, but since the owner got a Mac, the site got cool. Way to go! the rest of these pages are just plain sorry: The Macintosh Isn't All That A bunch of moronic claims about Macs. This page won't let you in if you're using a Mac. Stephen's Anti-Mac Page waste of space... The MacBS Homepage Mac hate badges, that's it. This guy was posting stupid things on the Team Macsuck page a while back, that is, until other Mac users and I made him look like a fool. IBM Shrine Some badges and a bunch of dumb lists they made up. I'll talk about the list later. Proudly Made with Windows 95 [the author] A page with Win05 badges and complaints about Macs. Buggin's Anti-Mac page no content Mac Complaint [the author] A couple stupid lists. I am the featured 'loser of the month' there. If this link doesn't work, it's because the guy always changes the name of his index file. Also make sure you turn of Javascript if you have a Mac, since there's a nasty little script on that page. Check out this special fan page he made for me. Zach's anti-Apple page This site uses a couple generic lists. The anti-mac page [author's guestbook] More crap RAM (Racist Against Macs) Hey, I didn't know you could be racist aginst computers. Pretty much a zero-content page. SBP's Anti-Mac Homepage Their 'why I hate Macs' list is pretty out of date. Expensive? 4x CD-ROMs? Oh please. Here's a few items: 1. One mouse button, less functions Then get another mouse. Geez 6.Macs themselves are very overpriced $900 for 180mhz 603e 8. Only one choice of operating system MacOS,BeOS,AIX,MkLinux,PMacLunux 14. Fewer ports behind a Mac, can't add most ports via expansion cards Like what? 18. No such thing as a visible file extension for a Mac That's a GOOD thing. Macs have a file type/creator resource, so you don't need extensions for the OS to tell what kind of file it is. C.A.M. Campaign Against Macintosh. Australia's Mac bashing site (now shut down). This site had the usual "why we hate Macs lists". Here's a list from their site, from the "why IBMs rule" section. I'll straighen things out: 9. Easy to upgrade. If you want to install a zip drive,Modem eg,for your computer just look for the "Designed for Windows 95"logo on the box Plug & play or if you need a new CPU,RAM eg you can just go the many IBM shops out there & bingo. Mac owners can install a modem easily but what about a CPU or more RAM or what happens when your Mac busts? then you need to go to the Apple service center to get it fixed, but is there a Apple service center in your area & how much will it cost when the guarantee expires? Macs have had plug & play since 1984. It is no big deal on the Mac, plug it in and it works, no hardware wizard needs to search for drivers. You can upgrade a Mac's CPU just as easily (probably easier on a Mac). For more RAM, just plug it in and turn your Mac on. Mac repair entails the same sort of issue as PC repair.8.The best games. The real reason why IBM's rule it has more great games like Quake,WarCraft,C&C green Alert,KK&D,X-wing vs Tie Fighter, MechWarrior 2,The Leisure Suit Larry series,Syndicate Wars & more. For Mac owners well Marathon is just a cheap Doom clone,Lemmings is great but old,Myst is losing the magic & Mac games are hard to find in other words there are hardley any. (Sigh) EVERY PC user has to talk about games, don't they? All those games are on the Mac, and they're better on the Mac.7.Internet made easy. With a dialer built in the Win95 CD,lots of ISP's & Netscape or IE,IBM owners can surf the net without the crap also when netscape updates its software it always update it on win 95 first. Mac's are more or less the same but you can get lots of internet stuff like web editors on an IBM.Made with a Mac more like made with crap if you ask me. Macs have a built-in dialer too. Plus MacOS 8 comes with IE & Netscape. Setting up a Mac for PPP means choosing your modem, entering the phone number, and the TCP settings. It is much faster than on a PC.6.Better technology. Boy the pentium MMX looks cool & theres alot of graphics acceleration cards out there to choose from, leaving the Mac empty as hell. MMX looks pretty sorry to me (see benchmarks). Regular PowerMacs still leave it in the dust. VMX should widen the margin, and coupling it with a 750 will slaughter any Pentium II.5.Multiplaying Fun. Got Quake?got a network?got 7 mates?well now you got all the stuff you need for a good old Quake Death-match. Mac owners, well since theres not a lot of multiplayer games for the Mac it looks like you be playing by your self forever. Gee, I've been playing Quake on my Mac. Update your list.#4 was stupid 3.More people use IBM. IBM users own 90% of the computer world,Mac users 10%. Go tell a UNIX user how many PCs there are. I don't care. 2.DVD is coming. What holds 4gig & looks like a CD-ROM? A DVD-ROM,imagine bigger games, bigger MPEG movies & other stuff,I bet Mac owners will never see DVD on there Mac. And you think there won't be DVD for Mac? Get real man.A generic list: This list can be found on many anti-Mac sites, since they all copy each other's stuff. Top 10 reasons why MAC users prefer macs. 10.They can't handle the trauma of having to deal with TWO mouse buttons. You can get 2,3, & 4 button mice for a Mac, you know. 9.They Figure anything that costs this much, just has to be the best. 180mhz for $900 8.Having to push a button to eject a floppy disk is just way too much work. So what, I prefer automation. 7.Membership in the "Overpriced Software Club" has it's priviliges. Mac software isn't overpriced. 6.Its a status symbol. No, but it is a symbol of discretion. 5.Flowers on the keys and smiley faces on the screen makes 'em feel so special. The flower is an international symbol for command. And yes I do like seeing a smiley face on startup. Reminds me how much I love using my Mac. 4.Macs require no thinking and a minimum of motor skills. I prefer to use my computer, not fix it. 3.Apple said MACS unpack, connect and install all new hardware by themselves. Just about... 2.Those Apple ads about "dip switches" and "dos CD-ROMS" really scared 'em. Some maybe, not me 1.Apple gives them choices: [A] Pay extra for a Keyboard or [B] Don't get one. A keyboard is standard. Supporting Lies: Jupiter Labs Performance Benchmark Testing A lot of PC sites use this site as 'proof' the PC is faster. First of all, the ByteMarks are wrong. I downloaded ByteMark after I looked at that BS page, and it does not report CPU,FPU,Video, & Disk like they claim. Here is a run of ByteMark on my 160mhz 604e & a Pentium Pro at work.
They also fail to describe testing methods, and provide no link to the benchmarks, so people can verify the results. I e-mailed them, and suprise, got no message back. And the number one reason why this is not a legitimate page, is that it is on Geocities. What kind of business can't afford a web page? Whoever made up Juniper Jabs was stupid, but the people that link to it as some sort of proof just don't get it. Man, there's a world full of idiots out there. I thing Geocities should start giving IQ tests before you get a free page. [an error occurred while processing this directive] |
