How to Get Started

1. Get an account on our machines:

   If you are an off-site student, to get an account here at Chico do the following:

   Call our system administrator at 530-898-6481 from 9-5 PST (or leave a message).
   His office hours are M-F 3:30-5:00 for "direct" contact.

   Provide the following info:

   • name
   • Chico ID number
   • date of birth
   • phone number
   • what class you are taking
   • login
   • initial password (obviously change as soon as you get on - must be 6-8 characters inclusive)

   Tell him you need an ecst account for an off-site course to access our SUNs.

   This will get you an account on the machine ect-unix.ecst.csuchico.edu which is also ect-sun.ecst.csuchico.edu which defaults to tiglon.ecst.csuchico.edu,
   IP address: 132.241.6.18

   You can also email to check on things, but I would not give any information over email that you might be concerned about.
   admin@ecst.csuchico.edu or more specifically edog@ecst.csuchico.edu

2. Once you have the account here, make a web page on it

   Information on how to make a web page (for beginners) is at this site.
