It's a little known fact that when the Max Factor heir's case was first opened, the police were considering an alternate theory that involved multiple assailants all from the same family. There were indications that other cousins or distant relatives were involved as well, but when it was established that one attack occurred on a bar just up the hill from the road leading to the town sqaure, the police realized that there was only one heir involved, and swooped in for the arrest.
