In addition Mechanical Engineering majors use the Fluid Mechanics Lab administered by the Department of Civil Engineering and the Circuits Lab administered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Mechatronic Engineering majors also use a variety of labs administered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

After-hours access to OCNL 431, 432, and 438Top of Page

The Mechanical and Mechatronic mission statements include "providing students a high-quality undergraduate engineering education with . . . facilities and equipment that are readily available . . ." Starting April 7, 2008, and for the remainder of the Spring 2008 semester, the Computer-Aided Design Lab (OCNL 438), Mechatronics/Intelligent Systems Lab (OCNL 431), and Design Workshop (OCNL 432) will be open Monday thru Friday evenings. The labs will be monitored by student volunteers and will be available to all ME, MECA, and MFGT majors and others currently enrolled in ME, MECA, or MFGT courses. Click here for details.

Safety in our labs is of prime concern. Our Lab Safety Policies and Procedures are rigorously followed. All students, faculty, and staff using a lab must complete an Acknowledgement of Lab Safety Policies and Procedures form each year.

Printing in O'Connell 438Top of Page

Students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology are entitled to an account on the College computer network. Each account allows a limited number of pages to be printed on the printer in O'Connell 438. To print additional pages:

1. Purchase a print card at the Customer Service Desk in the Associated Students Bookstore. Ask for a College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management (ECC) print card. A card costs $16.00 and is good for 200 printed pages.

2. From an on-campus computer, log onto http://printquota.ecst.csuchico.edu.

3. Fill in the requested information on the web page using the print card number, your ECC computer account name, and your Chico State ID number.

Your print quota in College computer labs will then be increased within 24 hours.
