MSEE: Computer Engineering Option


The MS in Electrical Engineering with a Computer Engineering Option is designed primarily to serve those students who wish to obtain advanced knowledge in the application of electrical engineering principles to the design of computer based systems. This knowledge can serve as preparation for a doctoral program or an intermediate level position in industry.

The master's degree requires 30 semester units beyond the baccalaureate, including at least 12 units in computer engineering. Either a thesis plan, dissertation or a comprehensive examination plan may be chosen. Active areas of study and research in the Department currently include microprocessing systems, digital system design and simulation, computer architecture, computer networks, and communications.
