Electrical and Computer Engineering Assessment Methods

Identifying ways to assess how well our students are prepared for engineering jobs and life-long learning is not particularly hard; defining a set of assessment tools that gives enough information, but not too much, and is manageable and repeatable is extremely difficult. Our department has decided that the following set of assessment tools will be both adequate for our needs but not too burdensome. We believe that the assessment process will be be sufficient and sustainable.
  • Senior Exit Surveys
  • Alumni Surveys: 1-2 year grads, 3-7 year grads, and 8+ year grads
  • Faculty Course Assessment
  • Educational Benchmark Survey
  • Industrial Advisory Board Recommendations
  • Employer Surveys
