A Major Academic Plan (MAP) provides a recommended sequence for completing all coursework required for a degree at CSU, Chico, including General Education requirements.
Most students use the MAP as a general guide for completing their degree requirements. They do not usually follow the plan exactly, primarily because they choose to stretch their studies over about five years rather than the four years specified by the plan.
Due to the complexity of the CE program, all CE majors are required to seek major academic advising. Every student is assigned a CE faculty member as their major academic advisor. The department organizes and conducts advising week every semester just prior to the Portal opening date for selecting courses in the subsequent semester. If you are a CE major and do not have an advisor, please contact the department office.
